Idaho is a recent addition to my series of abstract art watercolor maps. My husband and I had the pleasure to visit this gorgeous state ten years ago, to spend a week with good friends who had relocated from Virginia to Moscow, ID. The scenery was like nothing I’d ever experienced growing up in New England. Beautiful farmlands, rolling hills, mountains, scenic lakes, and incredible vistas. The Palouse was gorgeous and the people were so nice. I hope to get back there someday!

It started with an Instagram post of my sister's handsome golden retriever having fun at the beach. Charlie looked so full of happiness and fluffiness, and so I saved a snapshot of the image to use as a possible painting reference.
