5x7 inch original Original Artwork, Part of the "Hope Springs Eternal" series.

Original mixed media artwork on 140 lb hot press watercolor paper. This 5x7" piece is mounted to an 8x10" bright white mat board and ships ready to frame.

In Wedges, the under-painting has a soft aqua-green watercolor wash.  This piece evolved into something new with the addition of several thin layers of acrylic paints.

Like blades of grass along a ledge, the virus seeks to wedge itself in between the blocks that make up our existence. However, "it is human nature always to find fresh cause for optimism." — Alexander Pope (1733)

"A grass blade believes that men build palaces for it to grow in. Grass wedges its way between the closest blocks of marble and it brings them down. This power of feeble life which can creep in anywhere is greater than that of the mighty behind their cannons." — Honoré de Balzac (1835)

Note that colors may appear slightly different on screen than on the finished artwork, as monitors may be calibrated differently, and color nuances aren't always perfectly rendered digitally.  Please ask for more photos if you are uncertain before purchasing; original artwork cannot be returned / refunded unless it was damaged during transit.
